My Grave Merdeka

Been meaning to survey and photograph this particular graveyard for some time.

So why on Merdeka day of all days in the year?
Maybe because this year, this day reminds me that this country seems to be going from the dogs to the pits...

Anyway, call me morbid but I quite like the designs and "architecture".
Was I afraid?...
only that I may be disrespectful to the families if ter-step wrong or worse still ter-fall into an empty lot.
thankfully neither happened...

I arrived later than I expected and wondered why there were ppl hanging out there...
but progressed to walk around anyway..
it was a slow moving
but quite interesting in my opinion
and I didn't know that ppl reserved places on graveyards...?
and not sure why this was coloured...
sadly some stones are damaged
but was nice to know that some people still remember their loved ones
what worried me was some graves didn't have tombstones...
wasn't sure where to step
one down... who knows how many more to go
hey! you can see the KL tower from here
barely begun when the sun began setting...
I bet if I spent all day here it still wouldn't been enough
so this means I'll be back for more...
but next time with long pants... and macro gear...
got many odd insect bites... I'm sure they'd look good in photos :D

My weekend

Good day folks!
Happy Hari Merdeka to all my M'sian peeps...
Hope yours has not been as gloomy as mine :)
currently preparing exam papers.. got distracted.. so taking a break

Thought I'd just finish blogging about my weekend that passed...
It was pretty much an uneventful weekend...
Saturday I went to visit Taylor's Asaban festival but missed out the portion I was looking forward for....
so ended up taking a look around the campus grounds
Looks like a nice place for a photoshoot :)

After that felt very itchy backside so went walking around 1U as I remember being fascinated by the Hari Raya deco.. it had a balik kampung feel to it
the oddest sight though was coming across a barbie doll wedding gown display in front of a jewelery store
Sunday was anticipated as another uneventful day even  though there was a photography session going on at the Aver Awards at e@curve.
and even though there were some famous faces
I didn't feel like registering for the sessions... in fact I felt kinda stalkerish (can you spot "waldo" in the cap?)
and I also noticed a regular face in the photography media..
who later tells me he was also blocking the guy with the phone from taking inappropriate photos.
What is wrong with these people
So having had enough I thought I'd check out the final round of AniCom in Sungei Wang Plaza.
as anticipated it was packed

and people used any means to see the happenings that they could
some even got a friendly lift
Good thing I was here two weeks ago and came armed with my trusty ladder.
so I managed to get a good enough view
though some thing should not be seen
I know that cosplay means dressing up in costumes and playing characters... but what is the obsession with crossdressing?!?
makes me feel like whacking someone
maybe that explains some of the aggression that day
at least some ppl came in peace
and vegetables???
yea it kinda leaves me like this
I must say after attending quite a few of these events.. these people sure know how to have fun and quite friendly
I was most impressed by this presentation... not only because she's actually a model
but check out that PSP!.. who wouldn't want to press those buttons...
 but is this the ending?

I dunno as I didn't stick around til the end... left early to search for some batteries and to get home in time for dinner.
All in all I would say that the weekend was rather uneventful but still enjoyable and productive non the less
here's hoping next weekend is better!
Happy Freedom day once again people!... May you live wild and free :)

SUB gone banana's

Last Thursday night, half of Heartcrusher Crew made an appearance at Coco Banana, Sunway Pyramid, to attend SUB's academy's Beauty & Make-Up Fashion Show. I must say it was much better than expected... I guess the academy have done enough of these shows for their students to have ironed out most of the kinks.

I was impressed how they allocated a portion and directed the portion of shooting the models with the make-up before the start of the show. Even how she took charge and systematically organised the girls and students impressed me.
The only part I didn't like was all the waiting about but I guess to most extent it can't be helped.
However once the show started the flashes and shutters were kept busy...
I liked how they also shook things up with a "make-up" session midway.
It was just attaching a headpiece but it was a change of pace.
Then for the final session there was quite a break as the ladies nails needed to be done up
but of course some photographers found ways to amuse themselves
but soon the show got on its way again
Quite interestingly enough that even within the show they had different themes
from "wedding",
to urm I actually dunno what theme this was
to "Lady Gaga"
to "animal"
All in all I'd say it was not a bad way to spend my Thursday night

the pretty faces didn't hurt either :)
Great job SUB academy... keep it up
