Day 2: On the road again

It seems like all I do is travel on this trip... more than half my time seems to be spent on the road or walking to find my next place to stay...
makes me wonder if it's worth it sometimes... but other times the journey is actually the fun part... if I can stay awake to see the places going by and the people who live there...
but sometimes things can get exciting too...

at a stopover in Temerloh up to kuantan, it seemed pretty long
I got bored and just snapped around me...
got fascinated by the shop named theman store...
wondered if it was only for the man or was some government conspiracy thing
did you notice the fourwheel drive?
If you can read on the door it says
"Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat" (Social Welfare Department)

Why this is important becomes apparent soon after...
there was some big hoohaa in the seats ahead as this guy with 2 ladies start talking louder and louder to an unseen passenger...
the only thing I overheard was something about riding around the bus all day
After that they grabbed and ripped up a bus ticket and after 5 minutes of talking they escort this girl off the bus...
leaving the rest of us wondering what exactly was happening

After all the hoolaboo it's kind of hard to find anything else as interesting...
but then again I have a short attention span...
This scene caught my attention at a place called Paka, on the way to Kuala Terengganu...
don't you just love the colours?.. it's so pretty

my attention was drawn to this sign..
I wondered what was this Satar was... I just tot these country bumpkins din know how to spell...
stupid city folk like me dun understand that there's a whole world that we don't know...
so after taking photo of the pretty fire,
I decided to ask the lady what it was...
turns out it's fish cooked together with coconut wrapped in pandan leaves
It was pretty cheap too, I got this bagful of about 8 for RM2!
was so good then I would refuse anyone even if they had this eyes begging for the food :p
and before the lunch break would be over I would get distracted once more...
as I was pondering the inflation rates even out here
have you ever seen such ingenious and cheap way to make a straw dispenser?

And for those who wonder about a cheap place to stopover while in Kuantan, Pahang,
there are many guesthouses there... I've been at two so far...
this time I stopped at a place called Hotel Makmur
This place can be found near the stadium, along Jalan Pasar 1.
the details are as below (actually found from google earth!)
B-14 & 16, 1st & 2nd Floor, Jalan Pasar Baru 1, 25000 Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia
09-5141363‎

if you're not fussy about having only a fan, the room is quite satisfying...
the toilet is clean enough... what more can you ask for on a budget price of RM28?
